When it comes to the four majors, it is about "The Big Three": Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, and which one has the tougher road to the Finals. Which player can surprise them before the semifinals.
[Djokovic N.] (1) vs. Wawrinka S. (23) -- Djokovic is the champion many think will or want to lose but when he's on his game, he is unbeatable. Wawrinka is a player "The Big Three" really don't want to tussle with. Though Djokovic has dominated the head-to-head matchups, Wawrinka has closed the gap in recent years, especially in majors where Djokovic leads 4 to 3.
Koepfer D. vs [Medvedev D.] (5) -- Medvedev is too solid to fall to an upset, especially with a potential matchup against Djokovic on the line.
[Federer R.] (3) vs. Goffin D. (15) -- David Goffin is one of the toughest "smaller" players on the tour who has slayed many "giants" but he has not found much success against "The Big Three". Federer leads 8 to 1.
[Dimitrov G.] vs. de Minaur A. -- Start of the year, I had Dimitrov winning his first major. So far, he's had a subpar year, with many early round losses. This matchup is a major test for him as De Minaur has played his best tennis in recent months.

Dimitrov has been a disappointment and is no longer called "Baby Fed".
I like the James Dean lookalike Alex De Minaur. He was very impressive winning a title in Atlanta this summer.
Medvedev has turned heel in the tennis world. His behavior is reminiscent of a young Novak Djokovic. Remember 2008 (or was it 2009?),after Novak beat Roddick and antagonized the NY crowd?
With Dimitrov, I think players hit a wall. It happened to him after winning the Year-End Championship in 2017. Unfortunately I thought that would propel him...still has a few years to win that elusive major.
Djokovic has grown past that; plus, I think it was more his rivalry with Roddick As far as Medvedev, he's attention-seeking because The Big Three get all the attention. He should take a page out of Cilic's book and be a classy pro.
