BRACKET THREE
8
M. Keys – I had Madison losing to Garbine Muguruza in the quarterfinals. Now,
that moves her to a potential matchup against Angelique Kerber, provided she
reaches the appropriate level of focus. She has dodged two losses in the first
three rounds and can no longer press her luck.
C.
Wozniacki – After escaping with a first round win against Taylor Townsend,
Caroline is basically playing with house money. She’s the right player to pick
for the biggest payoff. If she gets past Madison Keys, then an appearance in
the semifinals is more than doable.

J. Konta – Johanna has been one of the tournament’s most dominant players. She
had a health risk in her second round match against Tsvetana Pironkova and then
rebounded to easily defeat Belinda Bencic in the third round. Konta has an
unorthodox service stance and game that gives opponents trouble, but do not think it will trouble Keys or
Wozniacki.
A.
Sevastova – I’m not sure what to make of Anastasija’s tournament. She’s pulled
off three upsets, including beating Garbine Muguruza. She has tougher tests
ahead.
