A. Radwanska – I had Aga reaching here and losing to Timea Bacsinszky, the
second biggest disappointment of the tournament. She wins this round and likely
faces Venus Williams. Depending on who has the tougher match this round, I
could see Radwanska reaching the Semis.
Ana
Konjuh – She is literally swimming in the deep end of the pool. Though she beat
Kiki Bertens in the first round, Radwanska is an entirely different opponent.

K. Pliskova – Hats off to Karolina, as she beat a real tough opponent -- Anastasia
Pavlyuchenkova – in the third round. I thought Kristina Mladenovic would be
standing here, but that second round battle took enough out of Anastasia
Pavlyuchenkova that neither would have stood a chance against Pliskova, who has
been playing great tennis.

V. Williams – I had Venus losing to Baczinsky in the quarterfinals but this
matchup against Karlina Pliskova is not one to take lightly. Whereas Mladenovic
would have played a basic power game, Pliskova brings an emotional level along
with hers. The advantage is with Venus because of mobility but she cannot risk
a long three set match. Look for Venus in the semifinals, as my third pick to
win the tournament.
